FRANKLIN HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS WILL BE INDUCTED RYANDA GUERRERO INTO THE ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME AT THE UPCOMING GIRLS SOCCER GAME ON JANUARY 29TH PRIOR TO THE START OF THE VARSITY GAME VS. BEAR CREEK.
Ryanda graduated from Franklin in 2020 with a 3.6 GPA and earning honor roll recognition. She was awarded an athletic scholarship to William Jessup University where she majored in criminal justice and volunteered with the Stockton Police Department. She was a dedicated lifeguard from age 15, a standout multi-sport athlete who started her tennis career at the age of three, playing at Oak Park. She was the first female at Franklin High School to letter in four sports, Tennis, Soccer, Softball and Track and Field during her four years here. A three-year tennis team captain with multiple MVP awards. Ryanda left us on April 25, 2022, at age 19, and was admired by people of all ages.
Franklin’s own Ian Apalakis wins Athlete of the Week
The votes are in, and the 209 has made its choice. The March 23-28 Martin Dentistry Baseball Athlete of the Week is Franklin catcher, infielder and pitcher Ian Apalakis.
In an online poll that closed Thursday, Apalakis earned just under 58% of the votes with 46,510 ballots cast. Edison second baseman and pitcher Roman Stewart placed second with 29,530 votes.

Opportunities don’t always come with runners on base. When they do, Ian Apalakis makes them count.
The Franklin standout has become one of the area’s most reliable run producers, consistently delivering in the middle of the lineup.
His approach has stayed simple — drive the ball, stay patient and capitalize when chances appear.
Apalakis has recorded at least one RBI in all 15 games he’s played this season, building a streak that has extended to nine straight games this week.
The consistency hasn’t faded from game to game. It’s become expected.
On March 25 against Chavez, Apalakis went 1-for-1 with a triple and an RBI, while also drawing two walks and adding a sacrifice fly in a 12-2 win.
Two days later, he delivered again. In a 16-3 win, he finished 2-for-3 with five RBIs, continuing to drive in runs at a steady pace.
His production has placed him among the section’s top hitters. With 23 RBIs, he ranks third in the Sac-Joaquin Section and 15th in California.
The numbers reflect more than volume. They show timing — the ability to come through when it matters most.
For Franklin, Apalakis has become more than a consistent bat. He’s the player teammates count on when runs are waiting to be brought home.
And through the first stretch of the season, he’s answered that call every time.
